Ending Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

We work with communities, local leaders, and survivors to raise awareness on the harmful effects of FGM. Our goal is to change social norms, promote alternative rites of passage, and protect girls from this practice through advocacy, education, and support networks.

Implementing initiatives that improve community resilience to climate-related shocks, such as droughts, floods, and extreme weather.

Child Protection

We advocate for the safety and well-being of children by creating safe spaces, training caregivers, and promoting child rights. Our efforts include preventing abuse, neglect, early marriage, and exploitation.

Promoting eco-friendly livelihood opportunities to reduce community vulnerability and increase economic resilience against climate risks.

Menstrual Hygiene Management

We promote menstrual dignity by distributing sanitary products, offering health education, and fighting stigma around menstruation. Our programs ensure that girls can manage their periods with confidence, safety, and without missing school.

Collaborating with local, regional, and global stakeholders to influence climate policies, promote sustainable practices, and secure commitments to environmental protection.

Youth and Women Empowerment

We build the capacity of young people and women to lead change in their communities. Through skills training, mentorship, leadership development, and income-generating initiatives, we support their journey toward independence and influence.

Uniting NGOs, community organizations, and stakeholders to pool expertise, resources, and influence for impactful climate action.

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Prevention

We address the root causes of GBV through community dialogue, survivor support, and rights education. Youth Vision Kenya empowers women and youth to speak out, access services, and challenge the structures that enable violence.

Providing workshops, training, and resources to raise awareness and build capacity on climate change adaptation and mitigation.

Community Engagement and Advocacy

We work closely with religious leaders, elders, CSOs, and local government to drive community-owned solutions. Our participatory approach strengthens accountability, builds trust, and ensures lasting change rooted in local realities.

Conducting research to understand climate impacts, track progress, and develop data-driven solutions tailored to the needs of Somali and African communities.

Working Process

Our Working Process - How We Work

1.

Assessment and Community Listening

We begin by engaging directly with communities to understand the challenges they face—such as FGM, GBV, child vulnerability, and menstrual health—through dialogue, surveys, and participatory assessments.

2.

Planning and Strategy

Based on community insights, we develop tailored strategies and action plans to address urgent issues like FGM, GBV, and youth marginalization — ensuring impactful, locally-driven, and sustainable solutions.

3.

Engagement and Collaboration

We bring together local communities, grassroots leaders, NGOs, and partners to co-create solutions that address FGM, GBV, and child protection—promoting active participation and leveraging collective knowledge to drive lasting change.

4.

Implementation

Our team works closely with communities to bring initiatives to life — from anti-FGM campaigns and GBV awareness forums to mentorship programs and youth empowerment workshops.
